"BESI BATANGAN DIGOSOK MENJADI JARUM"


Pada zaman dahulu di daratan Tiongkok ada seorang sastrawan besar yang berkisah tentang pengalaman dirinya di masa kecil.
Seorang bocah kecil tinggal di sebuah desa terpencil.Karna kenakalan dan kebandelannya,bocah ini sering tidak mengikuti pelajaran membaca dan menulis yang seharusnya dia ikuti.Dia lebih suka bermain-main atau berkelana menyusuri jalanan desa dan tepian sungai.
Suatu hari di tepian sungai,bocah kecil ini melihat seorang nenek sedang mengerjakan sesuatu berulang-ulang.Ia terlihat sedang menggosok-gosokkan sesuatu di sebuah batu.Sampai beberapa hari berikutnya,bocah kecil tadi masih melihat hal yang sama,yaitu sang nenek tua sedang terus melakukan kegiatan yang sama.Kejadian itu menimbulkan keingintahuan si bocah kecil.Maka suatu hari ia memberanikan diri mendekati si nenek dan kemudian terjadilah dialog sebagai berikut:
"Nek,beberapa hari ini saya lihat nenek melakukan hal yang sama terus-menerus.Sebenarnya nenek sedang melakukan apa,sih?"
Nenek pun menjawab."Nenek sedang menggosok besi batangan ini,Nak,,,"
Si bocah kecil pun semakin penasaran.
"Untuk apa nenek menggosok besi batangan itu?"
"Nenek menggosok besi batangan ini untuk dijadikan sebatang jarum!"
Bocah kecil ini tampak tidak percaya."Wah,,,mana mungkin,Nek.besi batangan bisa digosok menjadi jarum?!"
Nenek pun menghentikan kegiatannya dan menatap ke arah muka si bocah kecil,dan menjawab dengan tegas:
"Selama kita memiliki kemauan dan kesabaran,selama kita memiliki keteguhan hati,keyakinan,dan keuletan,besi batangan ini bila digosok terus-menerus,maka suatu hari nanti besi batangan ini pasti bisa menjadi sebatang jarum,,,"
Si bocah kecil pun terhenyak mendengar jawaban si nenek.Dan,peristiwa itu terekam begitu dalam di benak si anak.Peristiwa itu telah mengubah sikap mentalnya dan menjadikan dirinya seorang pelajar yang rajin,disiplin,dan ulet.Setelah dewasa si bocah kecil tadi menjadi seorang sastrawan yang terkenal dan kata-kata mutiara tadi menjadi sangat populer sampai saat ini.
